Based in Central Alberta, Grubb Engineering is a team of structural engineers and technologists dedicated to providing practical and cost effective solutions for the structural design and detailing of buildings and related components.
Grubb Engineering was founded in Lacombe in 2011 to provide contract engineering services. The team has grown rapidly and now has dozens of qualified and experienced team members. We are committed to employing an integrated design approach by blending the best available software and technology with a practical style rooted in years of design experience with various project types. Our modelling and detailing platform is based in REVIT, and we strive to provide a full 3-dimensional element to each of our projects that aids with visualization and coordination between architectural and other engineering disciplines. Our technologist team also has extensive experience in the detailing of a variety of structural components including production of shop drawings for complex elements.
Our team has extensive experience in the use of all major structural engineering materials, including wood (heavy timber, glulam, log, conventional and engineered lumber products), steel (conventional, composite, and light-gauge), concrete (cast in place and precast), composite materials, and masonry. We have employed these materials successfully on a wide variety of projects ranging from custom residential, multi-family residential, light-commercial, industrial, recreational, and institutional projects, and often mix materials where required to suit the project requirements.
Our services range from concept and preliminary design, design development, detailed design and production of construction documentation to site reviews and reports. We are also able to make use of our overall models to assist with project detailing where feasible.
